Stefanie Recollet, WBAFN’s new Waste Management Coordinator

Biography:

Stefanie Recollet is WBAFN’s new Waste Management Coordinator. She is an Anishinaabe kwe from the Ajijawk Dodem (Crane Clan) with ties to Rabbit Island in Wikwemikoong & Sagamok Anishinaabek.

Stefanie graduated from the Law and Justice program at Laurentian University and has spent the last five years in Environmental Management for her home community of Wahnapitae First Nation, where she currently lives with her two children.

Recognizing our sacred responsibility to care for our lands and waters, she will be working with our communities to combine Western science & Anishinaabe Traditional Knowledge to inform responsible waste management solutions. She is committed to supporting meaningful community-based capacity development to ensure that we effectively manage our collective resources for the benefit of future generations.
